K-12 Educators’ Institute
In 2010, the K-12 Educators’ Institute was introduced at the HENAAC Conference. The Institute is designed to offer educators an opportunity to gain resources, learn STEM-relevant teaching techniques, and participate in various interactive and hands-on workshops. The participants discover new methods for integrating STEM into their curriculum, learn fun and inexpensive ways of creating STEM hands-on-activities for students, and interact with engineers and scientists.
The Institute offers teachers and administrators culturally relevant techniques and resources to connect existing curricula with real-world STEM applications. The Institute features demonstrations and training of hands-on project materials that reflect current STEM technologies.
