2013 members of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE)



Great Minds in STEM™ (GMiS) would like to congratulate Dr. John Tracy and Dr. Enrique Lavernia on being elected 2013 members of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the highest professional distinctions in engineering.

Dr. John Tracy is the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, Operations and Technology for The Boeing Company. Dr. Tracy was recognized “for leadership in advanced composites design and manufacturing technology for air and space vehicles.” Dr. Tracy is a member of the HENAAC Hall of Fame and was honored as the HENAAC 2006 Engineer of the Year.

Dr. Enrique Lavernia, Distinguished Professor and Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Davis was elected for his “contributions to novel processing of metals and alloys, and for leadership in engineering education.” Dr. Lavernia was honored by GMiS in 2011 as the recipient of the HENAAC Outstanding Technical Achievement – Academia award.
