Adriana S. Santos
Lockheed Martin Corporation

Adriana Santos has been a rising star at Lockheed Martin since joining the company in 2011 as an intern and then as an engineer in 2012.

As a result of her technical capabilities and skills, she was selected for Lockheed’s Operations Leadership Development Program. This is an intense two-year rotational program that gives participants a solid foundation in manufacturing, production operations, quality control and supply chain management.

Adriana has received accolades for her work ethic and many contributions. One of her managers shared that, “she is able to quickly learn a task and then translate what she has learned into something new and innovative. Adriana’s positive attitude and drive for continuous improvement have earned her numerous recognition awards and a prestigious Lockheed Martin Excellence Award. She is clearly seen not only in her work, but also in her community engagements, making her a well-respected member of the Lockheed Martin family.

As a natural born leader, Adriana has a real desire to help her community. She always jumps at the chance to go back to recruit for Lockheed Martin at her alma mater in Puerto Rico. She truly wants the youth to know that STEM is a field that is not only challenging but also extremely rewarding and fun. Adriana has an advanced technical mind, she’s community-oriented, is always willing to help and is known throughout the plant as a leader both technically and for community service activities. She volunteers at various community events to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM, and she also makes time to participate in recruiting events across the country.

She was outstanding as the 2014 Camden e-Week (Engineering Week) Champion, where she organized the week-long event with over 75 LM volunteers assisting six local schools in an engineering competition designed to encourage the high school students to enroll in engineering in college and potentially provide local future engineers to our workforce. She also supported Camden Science Night by planning the event with our Camden Site Manager, and then organizing and leading the activities that were intended to encourage students to study science and engineering.

Adriana earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and is currently working on a master’s degree in engineering management at Pennsylvania State University. She was recognized as a 2015 HENAAC Luminary in Pasadena, CA in October.
