Annette Favorite      

As the Vice President of Talent Manager Worldwide for IBM, Annette Favorite is responsible for defining talent strategies to ensure IBM has the skills, capabilities and competencies to meet current and future business needs. Her program responsibility includes workforce strategy and analytics, talent acquisition, skills management and global mobility. With diversity as her key focus, Annette manages over 1,000 IBM employees and approximately 250 subcontractors worldwide with a full year expense budget of $200M.

Originally from Puerto Rico and born to a military family, Annette spent her formative years in Georgia. Annette's parents did not have the benefit of higher education but understood through experience the importance of obtaining a college degree. This passion for education that they instilled in their three children resulted in all three of them achieving graduate degrees.

While in college, Annette worked many odd jobs to pay for her education. She spent time as a receptionist at a photography shop, doing temporary administrative work, and as a nanny. All of her hard work paid off when she secured an internship with IBM during graduate school that subsequently became full time employment.

Annette joined IBM in 1988 as a Recruited in Charlotte, North Carolina and has held positions in Compensation, Relocation, Diversity and Talent, spanning several IBM business units and functions including manufacturing, sales, development, and services. In 1997, Annette made a difficult decision to leave IBM and focus on raising her family. After a two-year absence, she rejoined IBM as a Human Resources partner in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Within four years, she obtained her first executive appointment as Director of Talent for IBM Global Sales & Distribution. Annette quickly progressed and was selected to go on international assignment to Madrid, Spain as Director of Human Resources for IBM Global Technology Services in Southwest Europe, leading HR policy and practice across France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Israel, and Turkey. After two years overseas, Annette returned to the U.S. as Vice President of Human Resources for North America's IBM's Sales and Distribution organization. In 2011 Annette was appointed to Vice President of Human Resources for IBM's Worldwide Software Organization. In this role, she was responsible for implementing IBM's global HR strategy to approximately 19,000 sales employees worldwide.

Annette attributes her success to mentors and especially her family, including her supportive mother who helped raise her children, which allowed Annette to be able to have both a career and family life. Through her mother, Annette's children have been exposed to their Hispanic culture through food, customs, language and as a result have learned to appreciate diversity and how it can enrich their lives.

Annette earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Master's in Human Resources from the University of South Carolina. She currently resides in Connecticut with her husband, Lee, their two children, Emily and Steven and her mother, Elsie Fournier.
