Maria Gonzalez Greth
Lockheed Martin

Some people know what they want to do from an early age and focus on it. This was the case for Maria Gonzalez Greth, who was so inspired by her third grade teacher’s infectious enthusiasm for math and Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon, that she would set her own goals early on and launch herself into a career in the sciences.

A descendant of Spanish immigrants, Maria was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she learned the value of family. When it came time to attend college she, fittingly, decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Pennsylvania’s West Chester University and shortly after graduating began working on her master’s degree in computer science – a degree she would ultimately earn from Villanova University.

Throughout her career, Maria has performed in roles as a system and software engineering, system integrator, technical project lead and manager. Her professional journey began 36 years ago with Lockheed Martin Corporation – a global security and aerospace and information technology company – where she has manifested excellence and achievement. Among her most recent assignments, Maria served as Principal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems engineer, where she demonstrated a deep understanding of business processes, and was able to implement advanced IT systems to support evolving business needs. Today, with a continued enthusiasm for technology, Maria is adding to her wealth of experience as the Business Process Enablement Senior Manager, for the organization’s Mission Systems and Training (MST). In this role, Maria manages a $4M portfolio and is responsible for a team of resources working toward the mission of leveraging standard secure processes and proven best practices to provide strategic information technology solutions. She spearheads development of solutions aimed at creating and delivering strategic capabilities to MST that include technologies to enable business process automation and collaboration.

Maria is an active team member of the Workforce Strategy Council, which works to assist Lockheed Martin’s Enterprise Business Solutions deliver increased value through its employees. Her desire to inspire students in STEM education has enabled her to play a role in a number of the Council’s major accomplishments. These include increasing the number of college students, throughout the organization, especially within MST.

Always looking to grow professionally, Maria extends herself through active engagement in local IT Service Management Forums for networking, knowledge sharing, and education to advance the service management profession. Maria strongly believes in giving back and is engaged in a number of community service organizations, including the Yardley Country Club, where she serves as Vice President of the Rally for Cure committee aimed at empowering women to take action in the fight against breast cancer.

Maria continues to put family first. Married to her husband Rob for over 25 years, they enjoy golfing, traveling and reading. She continues to support her city’s beloved sports teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles!
